Lady Falcons net nine in CCC win
Led by Makaila Gillum having a boot in eight of nine goals on the day, Lee Christian moved to a winning record in the Carolina Christian Conference with a 9-0 victory over visiting Northwood Temple Tuesday afternoon.
Gillum scored four goals and dished out four assists in the abbreviated match. The Lady Falcons raced out to a 6-0 halftime lead.
Whitney O'Quinn recorded her third hat trick of the season and added three assists. O'Quinn increased her season goal tally to 21 goals in eight matches. She has 65 career goals in her four-year Lady Falcon career and needs four more goals to become Lee Christian's, girls' or boys' soccer, all-time goals leader.
Lee Christian's attack was rounded out by a goal and an assist by Skylar Dubuc and a goal and an assist by Shelly Foreman. It was Foreman's first varsity goal.
The Lady Falcons have won four of their last six matches, including conference wins in which they've struck for 10, 12 and nine goals.
Lee Christian (4-6, 4-3) has four matches left in the regular season. The Lady Falcons hosted Fayetteville Homeschool yesterday and are set to host O'Neal Friday at 4 p.m. The Lady Falcons have one CCC match to play in its first season as a CCC member and the CCC Tournament is slated for April 29-May 3.
