Area scores: Lady Falcons sweep to CCC victory
Lee Christian d. Trinity Academy 26-24, 25-13, 25-14
The Lady Falcons (3-2, 3-1) got a Carolina Christian Conference victory with a sweep at Trinity Academy Tuesday evening in Raleigh.
The top server for the Lady Falcons was Kenna Parson with 11 points and one ace. Cameron Dubuc added nine points and three aces and Kelsey Clayton with two aces. Clayton led Lee Christian with 20 scoring hits, including 14 kills. Parson had 10 scoring hits, including three kills. Dubuc had nine scoring hits and four kills. Setter Haley Draughn led the Lady Falcon offense with 48 assists.
Lee Christian will host Neuse Christian in a CCC match at 5 p.m. Friday.
Southern Lee 3, Westover 0
The Lady Cavaliers (4-1, 3-1) moved into a tie for second in the Cape Fear Valley sweeping visiting Westover (0-6, 0-3) Tuesday night. The Lady Cavaliers host first-place Terry Sanford at 5:30 p.m. this evening.
Terry Sanford 3, Lee County 2
Terry Sanford (3-5, 3-0) edged the Lady Yellow Jackets (6-3, 3-1) in a battle for first place in the CFVC in Fayetteville on Tuesday. Lee County plays at Westover at 5:30 p.m. this evening.
Union Pines d. Douglas Byrd 25-17, 19-25, 25-13, 25-10
The Lady Vikings (8-3, 4-1) won a Cape Fear Valley match, for their third straight win overall, at Douglas Byrd Tuesday night.
Stephanie Johnson had 10 kills for Union Pines. Melissa Greene had 11 service points and five aces. Megan Harris had nine assists.
Union Pines hosts Gray's Creek at 5:30 p.m. this evening.
North Stanly d. Chatham Central 25-13, 25-20, 25-21
North Stanly (5-3, 3-2) won a Yadkin Valley match in Bear Creek Tuesday night. The Lady Bears (1-7, 1-5) play a YVC match at Queens Grant at 6 p.m. this evening.
Albemarle d. North Moore 25-20, 25-16, 25-19
Albemarle (6-2, 5-2) won a YVC match at North Moore (4-5, 2-4) Tuesday night. North Moore hosted Gray Stone Day last night and will visit the same Lady Knights in Misenheimer at 6 p.m. this evening.
Cedar Ridge d. Northwood 25-16, 25-15, 25-12
Cedar Ridge (8-3, 4-0) took a Big Eight win at home Tuesday night. The Lady Chargers (2-5, 0-4) have another league match at Orange at 6 p.m. this evening.
Pine Forest d. Overhills 25-13, 25-15, 19-25, 25-15
Pine Forest (9-1, 5-0) handed visiting Overhills (7-4, 3-1) its first Mid-South Athletic loss of the season Tuesday night.
Katie Keen had seven assists and six kills for the Lady Jaguars. Sophie Baugher had six aces and Jaylen Smalls had four blocks.
Overhills hosts E.E. Smith for a MSAC match at 6 p.m. this evening.
Triton d. South Johnston 25-20, 25-19, 25-20
The Lady Hawks (5-1, 1-0) swept South Johnston (5-4, 0-1) to open their Two Rivers Conference slate Tuesday night. Triton plays a conference match at Cleveland at 5:30 p.m. this evening.
Corinth Holders d. Western Harnett 25-18, 25-14, 26-24
Corinth Holders (7-1, 1-0) beat visiting Western Harnett (2-5, 0-1) in both squads' Two Rivers Conference debuts Tuesday night. The Lady Eagles host Smithfield-Selma for a conference match at 5 p.m. today.
Grace Christian 10, Neuse Christian 1
The Crusaders (9-2-1, 3-0-0) rolled to a CCC victory and their second 10-goal game of the season at Neuse Christian on Tuesday.
Jose Leonidez scored a hat trick for the Crusaders. Evan Kannarr and Ricardo Castanedas had two goals each. Paul Borderlon, Zack Boggs and Salvador Leonidez had a goal each. The Crusaders led 4-0 21 minutes into the match and 6-0 at halftime.
Grace Christian plays a non-conference match at Cary Academy at 4:30 p.m. today.
Southern Lee 3, Jack Britt 2
The Cavaliers (5-0-1, 1-0-0) went on the road and beat 4A Jack Britt Tuesday night, going to 2-0-1 versus 4A opponents on the season. The Cavaliers played at Union Pines last night and will host Westover at 7 p.m. Monday.
Trinity Academy 5, Lee Christian 0
Trinity Academy (4-3-1, 4-0-0) topped the Falcons in a CCC match in Raleigh Tuesday afternoon. The Falcons (2-3, 2-2) will host Neuse Christian in a CCC match at 4 p.m. Friday.
Jack Britt 9, Overhills 0
Jack Britt beat the visiting Lady Jaguars in a Mid-South Athletic match Tuesday. Overhills (3-2, 3-2) plays at South View at 4 p.m. today.
Village Christian 7, Chatham Charter 2
Village Christian won at Chatham Charter Tuesday afternoon. Chatham Charter hosted O'Neal yesterday and is set to play at Andrews at 4:30 p.m. today.

Trinity Academy beat the Lady Crusaders in a CCC match at O.T. Sloan Park Tuesday afternoon. Grace Christian is playing in a tournament at Greenfield School Friday and Saturday.
