The Lady Vikings (2-1, 1-1) swept Lee County (1-1, 1-1) in a Cape Fear Valley match in Cameron Monday. Megan Smith, now 51-11 in her high school career, became the 61st Lady Viking to reach 50 career wins.

Union Pines hosted Western Harnett yesterday and plays at Southern Lee at 4:30 p.m. today. The Lady Yellow Jackets will host Terry Sanford at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Chatham Central 5, East Montgomery 4

The Lady Bears (1-1, 1-1) won a Yadkin Valley Conference match at home Monday afternoon. Chatham Central played Eastern Randolph yesterday and hosts West Montgomery at 4:30 p.m. today.

North Moore 9, South Davidson 0

The Lady Mustangs (1-1, 1-1) won a YVC match at home Monday. North Moore will play at East Montgomery at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.


Boys soccer

Leesville Road 4, Lee County 0

The Pride (1-1) beat the visiting Yellow Jackets (1-3) in Raleigh Monday night. Lee County plays its fifth straight 4A program to begin the season hosting Middle Creek at 6:30 p.m. tonight.


Western Harnett 4, Overhills 1

The Eagles (1-0) started their season with an in-county victory at Overhills (0-3) Monday. Western Harnett played at Union Pines last night and will host Harnett Central at 6 p.m. Thursday. Overhills begins Mid-South Athletic Conference play at South View at 7 p.m. tonight.

Pinecrest 1, Wakefield 1

The Patriots (1-0-2) remained unbeaten on the young season, drawing with Wakefield (1-1-1) in Southern Pines Monday. Pinecrest will host East Chapel Hill at 7 p.m. Tuesday.


East Montgomery 5, Union Pines 1

East Montgomery (3-0-1) won the second half 3-0 to put away the Vikings (0-3) in Cameron Monday. Union Pines played Western Harnett last night.

Cape Fear 2, Triton 0

The Colts (2-1) scored a goal in each half and won at Triton (0-2) Monday evening. The Hawks faced Harnett Central last night and will play at Pine Forest at 6 p.m. Thursday.


North Moore 3, Randleman 1

The Mustangs (3-0) remained perfect with a win at home Monday evening. North Moore hosts Southwestern Randolph at 6 p.m. this evening.


Providence Grove d. Chatham Central 25-9, 25-13, 25-14

Providence Grove (3-1) defeated the visiting Lady Bears (0-3, 0-1 YVC) in a non-conference match Monday evening. Chatham Central will host East Montgomery at 6 p.m. Thursday.

Northern Durham d. Northwood 25-17, 22-25, 25-23, 19-25, 15-13

The Lady Knights (1-2) edged visiting Northwood (1-2) in the fifth set Monday evening. The Lady Chargers host Jordan-Matthews at 6 p.m. tonight. Northwood swept the Lady Jets in Siler City last week.


Uwharrie Charter d. Chatham Charter 30-32, 25-15, 25-15, 25-14

Uwharrie Charter prevailed against the Lady Knights (0-2) in Siler City Monday evening. Chatham Charter played at Faith Christian last night and will host Burlington School at 6 p.m. Thursday.

Eastern Randolph d. Jordan-Matthews 25-15, 25-9, 25-9

Eastern Randolph (1-1) swept the Lady Jets in Siler City Monday. Jordan-Matthews (0-4) played Uwharrie Charter last night and goes to Northwood for a 6 p.m. start tonight.


Triton d. Overhills 25-17, 25-21, 22-25, 25-21

Triton (1-1) defeated county rival Overhills (0-1) in Spring Lake Monday evening. The Lady Hawks played at Middle Creek last night and will host Middle Creek at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. Overhills played Cape Fear last night and will go to Western Harnett for a 5:30 p.m. start Thursday.
