Lee County (3-0) led wire to wire, but had to hold on through a Ram fourth-quarter comeback, to win at the Marvin Webster Jr. Classic Wednesday at Ben L. Smith High School in Greensboro.
The quadruple-header was played to raise money for a scholarship fund in memory of Marvin Webster Jr., a Ben L. Smith graduate who suffered a heart attack and passed away in 1997 at age 18, during the summer before he was to begin playing basketball at Temple University. Lee County head coach Reggie Peace coached Webster at Smith.
The Yellow Jackets led 22-12 after the first quarter and kept a comfortable lead until Reidsville outscored the Jackets 23-10 in the last quarter for a tight finish.
Senior forward Dewaun McEachin led the Jackets with 17 points. Tre'von Watson scored 13 points and Keaun Toler added seven points.
Lee County will play its first home game of the season at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday versus Broughton.
