McEachin powers Jackets for CFVC win
Lee County rebounded from two consecutive conference losses with a 68-50 victory at Gray's Creek Friday night.
Senior center/forward Dewaun McEachin led the Yellow Jackets (14-3, 4-2) with a season-high 34 points. The 6-foot-5 Jacket scored his points making 13 of 24 field goals and 8 of 11 free throws. He grabbed nine rebounds, seven being offensive boards.
Guard Trevon Watson had 10 points and four assists while backcourt mate Hunter Jackson tallied nine points, seven assists, five steals and three blocks. Forward Jerry Pullum had four points, five rebounds and four assists.
Jeff Gibson led the Bears (4-13, 0-7) with 15 points.
Lee County's first game this season against Southern Lee, slated for last Tuesday, has been rescheduled for Feb. 6 at Southern Lee. Lee County's home date with Carrboro, already a rescheduled game, was postponed from Saturday night to this coming Saturday at 6 p.m. The Yellow Jackets have two CFVC contests coming up this week, starting with Douglas Byrd visiting Lee County Tuesday for a 7:30 p.m. start.
