Lady Jackets keep the runs coming
Lee County's softball team made quick work of Terry Sanford, winning 16-3 in five innings, Friday night on its home field.
The Lady Yellow Jackets (9-3, 8-2) have won eight of their last nine games and scored 10 or more runs on all eight of those victories.
The Jackets used 10 hits and 10 walks to pile up their runs Friday night. Lee County scored at least two runs in each frame and led 12-0 through three innings.
Clean-up hitter Morgan Pedley went 2 for 2 with a walk, two runs and four RBI. Tessa Wilson went 2 for 4 with a double, two runs and three RBI.
Savannah Patterson, Jacie Arrington and Whitney Sanford, the five, six and seven hitters in the Jacket order, knocked in two RBI apiece. Chandler Patterson went 1 for 1 with three walks and scored three runs.
Savannah Patterson started in the circle and pitched four innings allowing two hits and three unearned runs while striking out five. Pedley pitched a scoreless top of the fifth.
Lee County is off through spring break. The Lady Jackets will host Pinecrest on April 21 and Middle Creek on April 23.
