Plenty of stadiums play host to pregame and postgame concerts. Paul B. Gay Stadium and Lee County will be the spot for a prepractice concert as the Yellow Jackets will have Countdown to Fall Madness with a performance by Huckleberry Blue on Wednesday, July 31 starting at 8 p.m.

The LCHS Boosters Club is presenting the annual Yellow Jackets Sports Kickoff and adding a great night of fun and entertainment for the whole family. Then, for the Yellow Jacket fans who can make it until midnight, the first football practice of the season will start at midnight, on Aug. 1, the first official day of preseason practices across North Carolina.

Admission is free. The Lee County Yellow Jacket Marching Band and Yellow Jacket cheerleaders will perform. The Yellow Jacket spirit trailer will be open with merchandise. LCHS Booster packages will be available, including with an early bird discount.

The kickoff will include a meet greet with Yellow Jacket players and coaches, along with the new staff at the school, including principal Keena Wilson, new athletic director and longtime boys basketball head coach Reggie Peace and cheerleading coaches Brittany LaJohn and Emily Carroll.

Huckleberry Blue, delivering country with a little rock, will perform a special concert. Touring central North Carolina in 2013, the group has opened for Nashville's Scarletta, Jason Michael Carroll, Charlie Daniels, Shannon Whitworth and The Lost Trailers. Visit them at www.huckleberryblue.com for more information.

Midnight football practice will begin immediately following the event. For more information on Countdown to Fall Madness go to Yellowjacketboosters.com or the LCHS Facebook page.
