Lady Jackets earn CFVC volleyball honors

Following Lee County winning the Cape Fear Valley Conference season and tournament volleyball championships in Lee County's first season in the conference, Lady Yellow Jackets Chandler Patterson, Emily Stanley, Clay Fowler and Katy Langston were selected All-Conference as the conference team was selected last week by the CFVC coaches.

Patterson, a senior, was named the CFVC Player of the Year. Patterson led the Yellow Jackets with 105 aces, averaging 5.3 aces per match, and was second on the team with 134 kills on the season.

Stanley and Fowler, both juniors, made the CFVC First Team, and Langston, a junior libero, made the Second Team. Lee County went 16-5 overall and 10-2 during the CFVC season.

Stanley led the Lady Jackets with 223 kills, or 11.2 kills per match, and had 50 aces. Fowler, the Lady Jacket setter, had 364 assists and 84 aces. Langston averaged 34 service receives a match.

Lee County head coach Cindy Kelly and Gray's Creek head coach Crystal Waddell were voted Co-Coaches of the Year in the conference.
