Area scores: Jackets strike twice in second half vs. Jets

Lee County 2, Jordan-Matthews 0
Oscar Reyes and Michael Carter scored a goal each, both in the second half, giving the Yellow Jackets a victory on the road, and the Jets their first loss of the season, in Siler City Thursday night.
Payton Jackson had an assist. In goal, Dalton Messer made two saves and Hunter Watson had a save for Lee County.
Lee County (2-4) will begin Cape Fear Valley play at Gray's Creek at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Jordan-Matthews (2-1-2) will host Northwood at 6 p.m. Wednesday.
The Jets topped the Yellow Jackets 3-0 in the JV match.

Southern Lee 1, Fuquay-Varina 1
Following a Bengal win in Sanford last week, the Cavaliers (0-2-1) earned a draw at Fuquay-Varina (3-1-1) Thursday night. Southern Lee plays at Asheboro at 7 p.m. Monday followed by its CFVC opener at home versus Douglas Byrd at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Harnett Central 9, Western Harnett 0
The Trojans (5-0) routed the host Eagles (1-2) Thursday evening. Harnett Central will host Western Harnett at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Triton 1, Pine Forest 0
The Hawks (1-3) got their first win of the season at Pine Forest (3-2) Thursday night. Triton hosted Cape Fear last night and will welcome Overhills at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Gray's Creek d. Southern Lee 25-21, 25-14, 25-8
Gray's Creek (3-1, 1-1) beat the Lady Cavaliers (3-2, 1-1) in a Cape Fear Valley match at Hope Mills Thursday night.
Sydney Elseth had 15 digs for the Lady Cavs. Madison Sharpe had four aces and Larkin Staley and Morgan Birdsong had three aces each.
Gray's Creek won the JV match 25-20, 25-22.
Southern Lee will host Union Pines at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

Lee County 3, Douglas Byrd 0
The Lady Yellow Jackets (6-0, 2-0) rolled to a sweep at home Thursday evening. The JV Lady Jackets beat Douglas Byrd 2-0.
Lee County will play at Union Pines at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Union Pines d. Terry Sanford 28-26, 25-27, 19-25, 25-18, 15-4
The Lady Vikings (4-1, 2-0) rallied to win sets four and five for a Cape Fear Valley win at Terry Sanford Thursday night.
Alex Prots tallied 18 service points, 10 kills, 10 solo blocks, eight block assists and 10 digs for the Lady Vikings with Megan Harris having 25 assists, 12 digs and eight service points.
Chandler Adams had 10 service points, eight digs and seven kills. Melissa Greene had 16 service points, six kills and four block assists. Rachel Breasseale had 11 service points and six block assists. Charlotte Holder had eight kills and six solo blocks.
The Lady Vikings will host Lee County at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Southeast Raleigh 3, Harnett Central 2
Southeast Raleigh (2-4, 2-0) outlasted Harnett Central (1-2, 0-2) for a Greater Neuse River win Thursday in Raleigh. Harnett Central will play at Knightdale at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Village Christian 3, Lee Christian 1
Village Christian (4-3) defeated the visiting Lady Falcons (3-1) Thursday. Lee Christian will host Harnett County Home School at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Chatham Central d. East Montgomery 24-26, 25-20, 25-20, 22-25, 15-7
The Lady Bears (1-3, 1-1) broke through for their first win and a Yadkin Valley victory versus visiting East Montgomery Thursday evening.
Chatham Central will host West Montgomery at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Chapel Hill d. Northwood 25-23, 25-18, 25-10
Chapel Hill (3-3, 1-0) swept the Lady Chargers (2-3, 0-1) in the Big Eight opener for both sides in Chapel Hill Thursday.
Alexa Bernard had seven kills and two blocks for the Lady Chargers. Skyler Farrell had seven assists and Emma Johnson had six assists.
Northwood will host Cardinal Gibbons for a league match at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Chatham Charter d. Burlington School 25-19, 25-17, 17-25, 25-19
The Lady Knights (1-3) got their first win of the season at home in Siler City Thursday. Chatham Charter will host Woods Charter at 6 p.m. Thursday.

Chatham Charter 9, River Mill 0
The Lady Knights won with a sweep at River Mill Academy on Wednesday. Katya Langdon, McKenna Nixon, Landin Eldridge, Brenna Underwood, Allie Grace Culberson and Kayla Kidd won singles matches with teams of Langdon and Eldridge, Nixon and Underwood and Culberson and Kidd winning in doubles.
Chatham Charter's next match is at Burlington Christian at 4 p.m Tuesday.
