U.S. Open second round tickets are sold out
The U.S. Golf Association (USGA) announced Thursday all tickets for the Friday (June 13) round of the 2014 U.S. Open Championship at Pinehurst Resort and Country Club’s Course No. 2 are sold out.
Limited tickets for Thursday and Sunday remain available. Available tickets for Thursday’s opening round start at $110 per person and the remaining tickets for Sunday’s fourth round are $135 each. The USGA previously announced all tickets for the third round of the championship on Saturday are sold out.
The U.S. Open has sold out for 27 consecutive years. More than 40,000 spectators are expected to attend during each championship round.
Each buyer is permitted to purchase up to four tickets for each day. All tickets include complimentary general parking and shuttle transportation to and from the championship entrance. Shuttle service from parking areas will begin begin each day at 5:30 a.m. and run continuously until the conclusion of play.
Junior tickets will be available on-site at will call and at all admission gates during the championships. Juniors, ages 12 and younger, will be admitted free of charge any day, when accompanied by an adult ticket holder. Tickets for juniors, ages 13 to 17, will be available for purchase at a reduced rate of $15 for practice rounds and $35 for championship rounds. There is a maximum of two junior tickets per one adult ticket holder. Junior tickets permit Trophy Club access only when accompanied by an adult Trophy Club ticket holder.
The USGA is the only authorized seller of tickets for the U.S. Open Championships. In order to eliminate the risk of purchasing counterfeit tickets, all ticket buyers are encouraged to purchase tickets directly from the USGA.
