Jordan-Matthews 58, Asheboro 27

Jordan-Matthews (12-0) scored the first 14 points of the game and kept rolling to a 31-9 halftime lead over the tournament-host Lady Comets in the semifinals of the Courier-Tribune Christmas Tournament Friday night.

Mylia Garner led the Lady Jets with 20 points, getting 13 in the first half. Erin Bristow scored 16 points.

The Lady Jets are going for their second straight Courier-Tribune Christmas Tournament title and faced Southwestern Randolph in the final Saturday night.

Hough 48, Pinecrest 41

Hough spoiled the opening round of Pinecrest's Holiday in the Pines tournament Friday night. Hough took control with a 17-0 run through the second and third quarters taking a 33-16 lead.

Felicia Painter had eight points and 16 rebounds while Megan Thomas, Jasmine Chalmers and Janea Williams had eight points apiece for the Lady Patriots (5-5).

Pinecrest played Richmond in the third-place game of the tournament Saturday.
