Sanford Golf Course hosting Cape Fear Cup this weekend
Sanford Municipal Golf Course will be the host course for the second Cape Fear Cup on Saturday and Sunday. The Cape Fear Cup is a Ryder Cup-format tournament with Lee County golfers facing Harnett County golfers. Each side will be made up of 12 of the top amateur players in both counties. Spectator admission is free.
Junior team tennis starting up
Lee County Parks and Recreation is taking registrations for Junior Team Tennis League teams, for boys and girls ages 5-10, now through Friday at the Parks and Recreation Office, 2303 Tramway Road, from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday.
The registration fee is $10 for in-county residents or $25 for out-of-county residents.
League matches will start Oct. 7 and be played each Monday at 6 p.m. at O.T. Sloan Park. There will be one one-hour practice per week. Each team will have four players. Each team match is two singles matches and one doubles match.

WHHS Booster raffle
The Western Harnett High School Booster Club is holding its annual fundraising raffle, with a top prize of $10,000 on Saturday at the WHHS cafeteria.
Only 400 tickets will be sold. Tickets are $100 each and are a taxable donation to the school. Tickets include a steak dinner, at 6 p.m. in the cafeteria. The drawing begins at 7 p.m.
The 400th ticket drawn will win $10,000. There will be other cash and door prizes throughout the evening. Ticket-buyers do not have to be present to win. Steak dinners can be prepared to go.

Adult basketball season sign-ups
Lee County Parks and Recreation is holding registration for its adult basketball league from Oct. 21-25 at the Parks and Recreation Office, 2303 Tramway Road in Sanford, from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. each day.
