Registration for Deep River Northview Optimist Club's spring baseball and softball seasons is underway. Players can sign up online through the drnvobaseball.com website or at the ballpark in the Field 1 concession building (the field nearest the highway) on the following dates:

Saturdays Feb. 1, 8, 15 and 22 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m., Fridays Feb. 7, 14 and 21 from 6-8 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 23. After Feb. 23, anyone registering will be assessed a $20 late fee and may be placed on a waiting list.

Baseball leagues range from ages 5-15 and softball leagues go from 6-15. The registration fee is $45 for the 5-6 year-old machine pitch baseball league and $50 for all other leagues.

Each child will be required to purchase 15 $2 raffle tickets for fundraising for a cash drawing. Players will pre-buy the tickets and sell them to recover the money. This is being done in lieu of a Spring feed.
