Lady Cavs turn the table on Triton
Southern Lee 3, Triton 1
The Lady Cavaliers avenged a 4-2 loss at Triton last week with a victory at Cavalier Stadium Thursday night.
Kasslynn Ansted led the Lady Cavs with a goal and two assists. Jalicia Addington and Yusimar Gonzalez scored a goal each. Vicky Monroy had an assist.
Southern Lee (3-3, 2-1) will host Douglas Byrd in a Cape Fear Valley match Monday at 6 p.m.
Triton (4-4, 2-2) played Eastern Wayne last night and will go to Midway Monday for a 6 p.m. start.
Hickory Christian 5, Grace Christian 1
Hickory Christian (3-1) rolled to a win at Grace Christian Thursday afternoon. The Lady Crusaders (2-3-1) played Cresset Christian yesterday and are set to host Lee Christian Monday at 5 p.m.
North Moore 2, Chatham Central 1
The Lady Mustangs got their first victory of the season at Bear Creek Thursday night. North Moore (1-4-1, 1-4-1) will host Gray Stone Day Monday at 6:30 p.m. Chatham Central (1-5-1, 1-5-1) is off until a match at Jordan-Matthews on April 2.
Eastern Randolph 2, Jordan-Matthews 1
Eastern Randolph (3-2, 2-2) handed the Lady Jets their first Mid-State loss of the season Thursday in Siler City. Jordan-Matthews (4-3, 3-1) will host Chatham Central on April 2.
Pine Forest 1, Western Harnett 0
Pine Forest edged the Lady Eagles Thursday night in Lillington. Western Harnett played Union Pines last night and will play at Westover Wednesday at 6 p.m.
Pinecrest 11, Southern Lee 2
The Patriots (8-1, 2-1) rolled to a season sweep over the visiting Cavaliers (5-3, 2-1) Thursday night. Pinecrest beat Southern Lee 5-1 in Sanford earlier this month.
Pinecrest played an SEC game against Purnell Swett last night. The Patriots will be in the Wilmington Spring Break Tournament at Ashley High School Monday-Wednesday.
The Cavaliers faced Douglas Byrd last night and have another CFVC game at home Tuesday against Overhills at 7 p.m.
Northwood 23, River Mill Academy 0
After single tallies for two frames, the Chargers piled up 11 runs in the third inning and went on to win in five innings at River Mill Thursday. The Chargers (7-1, 5-0) no-hit the Jaguars (1-4, 0-3).
The Chargers played N.C. School of Science and Math last night and are headed to Ashley for the Wilmington Spring Break Tournament starting Monday.
Chatham Central 6, East Montgomery 0
The Bears (4-3, 4-1) jumped ahead with four runs in the home half of the first inning and won a Yadkin Valley game over East Montgomery (4-5, 2-4), for a regular season sweep of the Eagles, Thursday night.
Chase Fuquay pitched a two-hit complete game with 11 strikeouts. Fuquay (3-0) is 2-0 against East Montgomery this season, having allowed one unearned run and getting 20 strikeouts.
Victor Stinson led the Bears at the plate going 2-for-2 with three RBI. Andrew Jurden went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
The Bears played Albemarle last night and will host North Moore Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Triton 10, Harnett Central 0
The Hawks plated three runs in the first and went on to a five-inning win over visiting Harnett Central Thursday night.
Matthew Webb pitched a complete game allowing three hits and no walks while getting eight strikeouts.
Austin Lee went 3-for-4 with three runs. Webb added a 2-for-3 day with four RBI. Brett McLamb went 2-for-4 with two runs.
Triton (7-2, 2-2) played Eastern Wayne last night and will host South Johnston Tuesday at 6 p.m.
The Trojans (4-2, 1-1) played East Wake last night and will play at Smithfield-Selma Tuesday at 7 p.m.
South Stanly 11, North Moore 9
The visiting Rowdy Rebel Bulls (9-0, 5-0) led 9-1 through three innings before North Moore rallied. The Mustangs (4-4, 4-2) scored five runs in the bottom of the fifth to get within 11-9 but couldn't keep it going in the last two innings.
The Mustangs continued in YVC play last night against Gray Stone Day and they will visit Chatham Central Tuesday for a 7 p.m. start.
Jack Britt 10, Pinecrest 0
Jack Britt (8-0, 4-0) beat visiting Pinecrest Thursday night, holding the Lady Patriots to one hit. Pinecrest (2-3, 1-1) played Purnell Swett last night.
