Grace’s Murr, Strickland and Ross earn All-CCC honors

Grace Christian junior Anna Murr was named Player of the Year in the NCISAA Carolina Christian Conference for the second straight basketball season on Wednesday. Lady Crusader teammates Brooke Strickland and Alexis Ross made the All-Conference teams in the CCC as well as Grace Christian won the season championship with a 13-0 record.

In CCC games, Murr averaged 23.6 points per game to go with four rebounds, three steals and three assists a game.

Strickland, who made first-team all-conference, averaged 19 points, seven rebounds, seven steals and six assists a game in CCC games. Ross, who made the second team, averaged 11 points, five assists and three steals per conference game.

The coaches in the CCC elected the players for the conference honors. All three will play in the conference’s All-Star Game at Grace Christian on Saturday, Feb. 16 at 11 a.m.

More pressingly, the Lady Crusaders are the No. 1 seed for the CCC Tournament. Grace Christian will host Northwood Temple in a first-round tournament game Tuesday, Feb. 12 at 6 p.m. Grace Christian is hosting the semifinals and finals of the boys and girls tournaments next Thursday and Friday.
