Girls basketball

Green Hope 78, Lee County 21

Green Hope (9-1, 6-0) easily remained undefeated in the Tri-Nine over the Lady Yellow Jackets Friday night with its fourth straight win by 20 or more points.

De'ja Bland led the Lady Jackets with 10 points.

Ashley Williams led Green Hope with 24 points. The Lady Falcons put the game out of reach with a 26-3 second quarter for a 42-12 halftime lead.

The Lady Jackets (4-9, 0-6) will host Athens Drive Tuesday night at 7 p.m.

Grace Christian 71, Neuse Christian 17

The Lady Crusaders jumped out to a 27-6 lead by the end of the first quarter and kept rolling to an easy Carolina Christian Conference win.

Anna Murr led Grace with 25 points. Brooke Strickland added 22 points and Alexis Ross scored 12 points.

The Lady Crusaders (14-2, 5-0) will travel to face Friendship Christian Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Northwood 40, Cedar Ridge 27

The Lady Chargers (8-3, 4-0) stayed perfect in Carolina 12 play beating visiting Cedar Ridge (6-6, 4-1) Friday night.

Jasmine Atkins had 13 points for the Lady Chargers and Shontai Totten scored 12.

Northwood will play at Raleigh Charter Tuesday at 6 p.m.

North Rowan 43, Chatham Central 37

North Rowan (5-5, 5-1) pulled away from a 36-36 tie with 2:38 to play to top visiting Chatham Central (4-7, 3-2) Friday night in Spencer.

A steal and lay-up by Jordan Culberson tied the game late in the fourth period before the Lady Cavaliers outscored the Lady Bears 7-1 the rest of the way.

Katelyn Moody led the Lady Bears with 10 points and Kirsten Cole added seven points.

Chatham Central will host South Davidson in another YVC game Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Triton 33, Cleveland 32

Triton (6-7, 2-1) held on versus a Cleveland (6-6, 1-2) rally in the fourth quarter after the Lady Hawks led 24-15 going to the last quarter.

Junior Alexis Hobson led the Lady Hawks with nine points and four rebounds. Freshman Je'nae Harvey added six points.

Triton hosts Eastern Wayne in an Eastern Carolina game Monday night at 6:30 p.m.

Douglas Byrd 46, Western Harnett 40

Douglas Byrd (2-10, 1-2) got its first Cape Fear Valley win edging Western Harnett (0-13, 0-4) in Fayetteville Friday night.

Brittany Trottman led Douglas Byrd with 19 points.

Center Erin Bryant led Western Harnett with 12 points.

Western Harnett will host Union Pines Friday evening at 6:30 p.m.

Boys basketball

Neuse Chrstian 105, Grace Christian 94

Neuse Christian held on to a 83-62 lead going to the fourth quarter for a CCC win at Grace Christian Friday night.

Mark Riches, in his first game back after an injury, scored 32 points for Grace. Zach Boggs scored 26 points. B.J. Harrison added 14 and Isaac Kruger scored 11.

The Crusaders (10-6, 3-2) will play at Friendship Christian Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m.

North Rowan 67, Chatham Central 42

The Cavaliers (10-3, 6-0) took the second quarter 15-2 to run out to a 34-10 halftime lead over the visiting Bears (2-8, 1-4) for a Yadkin Valley win Friday night.

Kihrey Ellis led North Rowan with 12 points. Zach Burke led Chatham Central with 14 points. LaQuinn Mordecai scored 11 points.

The Bears will host South Davidson Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

Triton 67, Cleveland 56

The Hawks (10-2, 3-0) trailed 33-22 at halftime before storming in front with a 28-6 advantage in the third quarter and going on to an ECC win over visiting Cleveland Friday night.

Senior Dedrick Stacker led Triton with 23 points, including 3-of-6 three-point shooting, to go with five rebounds and three steals.

A.J. Williams had 13 points and eight rebounds. Krishawn McBryde scored 12 points and Maurice McBryde dished out nine assists.

The Hawks will host Eastern Wayne for a conference game Monday at 8 p.m.

Douglas Byrd 67, Western Harnett 47

Andrew Murray had 20 points, eight rebounds and four assists to lead Douglas Byrd (5-9, 2-1) to a Cape Fear Valley win over the visiting Eagles (1-14, 0-4) Friday night.

Elliott Terry led Western Harnett with 18 points and Da'sean Haxelrigg scored 13 points.

The Eagles will host Union Pines Friday night at 8 p.m.

Northwood 47, Cedar Ridge 43

Northwood (6-5, 3-1) returned to Carolina 12 play with a win over visiting Cedar Ridge (3-7, 2-1) Friday night.

Ti Pinnix led the Chargers with 16 points and Aumad Walker scored 15 points.

The Chargers will go to Raleigh Charter Tuesday night for a 7:30 p.m. tip.

Harnett Central 56, West Johnston 34

Senior forward Tre Rogers led the Trojans with 21 points on 10-of-13 field goal shooting and 12 rebounds as the Trojans (5-7, 1-3) rolled to a Greater Neuse River win Friday night.

Hunter Baker scored 11 points for the Trojans while Antonie Morris and Maurice Jones added six each.

Harnett Central will play at Smithfield-Selma Tuesday at 8 p.m.
