CCCC playing in purple for Alzheimer's

Central Carolina's volleyball team is making its last home match of the regular season "A Match to Remember" tonight against Sandhills Community College.

The contest, starting at 7 p.m. at CCCC, will be played in honor and in memory of those with Alzheimer's Disease. October is Alzheimer's Remembrance Month. The Lady Cougars will be sporting purple jerseys representing Alzheimer's awareness.

The Lady Cougars, following matches tonight and Friday night at Rockingham County C.C., will run in the 5K "Race to Remember" at Kiwanis Family Park in Sanford on Saturday, helping to raise funds for Alzheimer's NC. The "Race to Remember" is sponsored by the Enrichment Center of Lee County.

Registration for the 5K "Race to Remember" is at 7:30 a.m. Saturday with the race starting at 8:30 a.m.. The Alzheimer's Walk will follow with registration at 9 a.m., an opening ceremony at 9:45 a.m. and the walk starting at 10 a.m.
