Cement truck plunges through parking deck at Moore Regional Hospital

SOUTHERN PINES — The emergency department parking deck at Moore Regional Hospital remained closed Friday after an accident Thursday afternoon.

A large crane arrived at the hospital overnight to remove a cement truck after it collapsed the top level of the deck. Structural engineers were on site Friday to assess the damage and plan for repairs. The crane will be on site until a repair timeline is determined. Until further notice, emergency department traffic has been rerouted to the entrance of FirstHealth's Conference Center, which is adjacent to the emergency department.
