Lee’s Chapel Christian Church hosts Bible School

Lee’s Chapel Christian Church, 453 Lee’s Chapel Rd. in Sanford, will host Vacation Bible School June 11-13. This year’s theme is “Professor Archie Oddagee’s Big Dig. On Friday, June 11, the Bible School will run from 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. On Saturday, June 14 from 10 a.m until 4:30 p.m. — with snacks and lunch provided. On Sunday, June 13, Bible School runs from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

Children 3 and under must have a parent or parent-designated adult to stay with them.

Jonesboro Heights Baptist Church hosts Bible School

Jonesboro Heights Baptist Church is inviting children to its annual Vacation Bible School from June 13-17. The event runs from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. nightly.

First Calvary Baptist Church resumes indoor services

First Calvary will resume inside worship service beginning at 11 a.m. on June 13. Youth Day is being observed honoring/recognizing 2021 graduates. Minister Kenyetta Brown will deliver the message. COVID-19 protection guidelines (including temperature check, mask wearing and social distancing) will continue to be followed. Services continue to be live streamed on the Facebook page of Thomas E. Smith, Sr.

One By One hosting discussion

One By One will meet Sunday, June 13, at 3 p.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church, 525 Carthage Street. The discussion topic will be “How are our Churches Addressing the Issues of Racial Injustice and Racial Inequality?” Ministers and religious leaders are encouraged to attend. Please wear masks.

One By One welcomes all people who are interested in improving race relationships in an atmosphere where frank and open discussion is encouraged.

Cameron Grove Church hosts suicide awareness day

The Sierra McLean Memorial Suicide Awareness Day will be held on the grounds of Cameron Grove Church, 309 Vernon Street in Broadway, on Tuesday, June 15 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office and mental health professionals will be present. All are welcome to enjoy the food, games, and fellowship.

Father’s Day event planned

St. Luke United Holy Church, located at 1414 Farrell Road Osgood, will have a Father’s Day program on the third Sunday in June starting at 11 a.m. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Al Simpson. The pastor, Elder Emily Petty.

Lee’s Chapel Christian Church hosts Homecoming

Lee’s Chapel Christian Church, 453 Lee’s Chapel Rd. in Sanford, will host it’s Homecoming Service beginning at 10 a.m. on June 27. 10 a.m. will be special music and 11 a.m. will be a special speaker, the Rev. Jody McNeill. Dinner on the grounds will be served after.

Lee’s Chapel will also host a revival at 7 p.m. June 27 through June 29. There will be special music each night and a special speaker, the Rev. Lee McKinney.
