A Sanford man was jailed without bail Thursday after narcotics officers found multiple guns, drugs and cash, according to a release from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
Shane Carter Taylor, 28, of 1874 Sanders Road, is charged with possessing a stolen firearm, possessing marijuana with intent to sell/deliver, maintaining a drug dwelling, being a felon in possession of a firearm, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of possessing a controlled substance.
He was arrested after lawmen executed a search warrant at his home, according to Capt. Brian Allen.
The search turned up 34 ounces of marijuana; 488 doses of Xanax, a drug used to treat anxiety and panic disorders; and 54 doses of Suboxone, an opioid used to treat addiction, Allen said.
Also seized were two assault rifles, a shotgun and four pistols and $6,440, Allen said.
In 2015, Taylor was sentenced to at least four years in prison on charges of first-degree burglary and robbery with a dangerous weapon, according to N.C. Department of Public Safety records. He was released in April 2019 and his parole ended in April 2020, records show.
