LILLINGTON — A Harnett County Detention Center officer is no longer employed after taking photos and video screenshots of inmates and allowing a prisoner to use his phone.
Terrell Jackson, 29, of Fayetteville, was arrested Thursday on charges of giving a cell phone to an inmate and willful failure to discharge duties, according to a release from the Harnett County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities were made aware Saturday of photographs on social media that showed inmates posing and screenshots of video calls from an inmate to a person outside the Detention Center, the release said.
Jackson allegedly snapped the photos early Saturday while working his shift and sent the pictures to another person at the inmate’s request, the release said.
Jackson also is accused of allowing the inmate to use his iPhone to make face-time calls from his cell, the release said.
