A Harnett County man has been arrested in the death of a man who died from a heroin overdose, the Harnett County Sheriff’s Office said.
Roger D. Pearson Jr., 34, of the 1900 block of Clayhole Road in Coats, was jailed Sunday on one felony count of death by distribution.
On March 1, investigators responded to a reported death on Katz Lane in Angier, a Sheriff’s Office release said. Upon arriving, they found David Wayne Cox, 42, dead from an overdose of heroin.
An investigation as to where Cox obtained the heroin led them to Pearson, a Sheriff’s Office release said.
A warrant for Pearson was issued in March. He was arrested Friday in Lillington and found to be in possession of 25 grams of methamphetamine and 28 grams of fentanyl, the release said.
Bail was set at $361,000.
