LILLINGTON — A Sanford man died Sunday after he was found inside a Cameron residence with a stab wound, according to the Harnett County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded at 10:36 p.m. to a reported trespassing at 1560 N.C. 87 South, a sheriff’s office release said.

Upon arrival, deputies saw Jose-Alexis Cabrera-Valencia, 25, of Courtland Village, collapse in the mobile home, about a mile north of Buffalo Lake Road, the release said.

Medics arrived and took Cabrera-Valencia to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville where he was pronounced dead, authorities reported.

The occupant of the Cameron home, Michael Eugene Graves Jr., 39, has been charged with murder, the release said.

He is being held without bail in the Harnett County Detention Center.

Graves has a lengthy record of convictions in Lee County courts dating to 1999, according to N.C. Department of Public Safety records.

Charges against him include assault inflicting serious bodily injury, driving while impaired, second-degree burglary, assault on a female and drug-related offenses, records show.
