MONROE — Reginald Lee “Reggie” Brown, formerly of Sanford, passed away at his home in Monroe and is now with his Lord and Saviour in Heaven.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert H. “Bob” Brown and Carole Jean Yow Brown of Sanford; grandparents, Hampton and Mossie Yow of Sanford and Harry and Edith Brown of Radford, Virginia; and a nephew Justin Wright of Spring Lake.
He is survived by two sisters Karen Oldham and Lisa Godwin (Rocky); four nephews John Robert Wright (Lucia), Ryan Hedgepath (Holly), Zachary Godwin (Katie) and Christian Godwin (Mona); a niece, Terri Wright; three great-nieces Natalee Wright, Mackenzie Hedgepath and Ariel Wright; and a great-nephew, Camden Wright.
He was a graduate of Western Harnett High School and attended Central Carolina Community College. He is a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Reggie sold real estate for several years but the majority of his career was in the manufacturing industry, where he found his niche.
Reggie enjoyed collecting antiques, art, jazz music, golf, loved debating politics and was a trivia expert. He loved his dog, Buster, who was his companion for many years. He also enjoyed spending time with his special friends Dave and Patty Bobnis.
A graveside service is 2 p.m. June 13 at Cameron Grove Cemetery, Swanns Station Road, Sanford, with the Rev. Matt Martin officiating.
