WHISPERING PINES — William Marion Garner Jr., 90, of Whispering Pines, passed away Monday (01/11/21) at his home.
He was born in Harnett County on Nov. 10, 1930, to William Marion Garner and Nina Hall Garner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Joyce Kennedy Garner, and siblings, Robert Garner, Teddy Garner, Agnus Martin, Peggy Patterson and Hazel Black. Mr. Garner was a longtime tobacco farmer, carpenter and preacher. He loved his family, his Lord and Savior, and sharing God’s word.
He is survived by his sons, Harold Garner and wife Donna of Raeford, and Eugene Garner and wife Karen of Sanford; daughters, Deborah Morgan of Whispering Pines and Linda Hardy of Vass; brother, Neil Garner of Carthage; sisters, Wanda Hinson of Jackson Springs, Joyce Ann Bobbitt of Niagara, and Dorothy Weathers of Sanford; grandchildren, Jerry Morgan Jr. Misty Johnson, Melissia Morgan, Eugene Garner, Jason Morgan, Casey Hardy, Roy Hardy, Crystal Hardy, Charles Quick and Cassonia Sweet; great-grandchildren, Jerry Morgan III, Ethan Morgan, Brennan Miller, Taylor Quick, Corey Morgan, William Morgan, Jasmine Morgan, Peyton Garner, Brian Hardy, Kayla Hardy, Trenton Hardy, Gabrielle Hardy, Jessica Markham, Matthew Farlow and Hannah Johnson; and one great-great-grandchild, Adian Wilson.
Visitation is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at New Covenant Community Church Cemetery with the graveside service following at 11 a.m. with Pastor Bryan Griffith and Jerry Morgan officiating.
