Triton 7, Union Pines 2

The Lady Hawks (4-2, 2-0) won a Tri-County 6 game at Union Pines (2-2, 2-1) Wednesday evening.

Triton scored two runs in the top of the first and held the lead all the way. Freshman Aubree Bass pitched a complete game allowing one earned run and no walks while getting five strikeouts.

Freshman Takyra McLean hit a home run for the Lady Hawks. Kalia Cooney went 2 for 4 and scored two runs.

Triton will host Harnett Central at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Union Pines will play at Western Harnett at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Chatham Charter 10, Carrboro 0

The Lady Knights (3-1) cruised to a five-inning win at home Wednesday.

Olivia Cheek, Sydney Bowman and Morgan Lineberry had two RBI each. Taylor Jones hit a triple and scored a run and Alexis Hayes scored three runs. Chatham Charter played at Carrboro yesterday and will play at N.C. Leadership at 5 p.m. Tuesday.


O’Neal 11, Fayetteville Academy 4

The Falcons (4-2) broke open a tight game with five runs in the fourth, building a 9-3 lead, and went on to a win at home Wednesday afternoon.

O’Neal plays at Trinity School in Durham at 4:30 p.m. today.

Girls soccer

Pinecrest 9, Seventy-First 0

Pinecrest (8-0, 8-0) stayed perfect on the season at home Wednesday night.

Keaton Clark and Lauren Landry scored hat tricks. Blair Rice scored two goals and Morgan McGuirt scored a goal. Landry, Rice and Victoria Kays had two assists each. Pinecrest will play at Richmond at 7 p.m. Monday.

Fayetteville Academy 2, O’Neal 0

Fayetteville Academy topped the Lady Falcons in Southern Pines Wednesday. O’Neal (3-3-1) plays at Trinity School at 4 p.m. today.
