Football Triton 49, Harnett Central 20

The Hawks (4-3, 4-1) capped the season beating county rival Harnett Central to finish runner-up in the Tri-County 6.

Javon Cowan ran for four touchdowns, with three in the first half as the Hawks led 42-7 at halftime.

J.P. Petoletti passed to Malachi Batts and Dylan Smith for TDs in the first half and Batts ran for a TD.

For the Trojans, Jaden Bryant ran for a TD and passed to Marquez Jones for another TD. Devin Perry had a TD run.

Northwood 44, Northern Durham 12

The Chargers (5-2, 5-1) won Thursday night in Pittsboro to finish in a three-way tie for the Big Eight title.

Northwood has made the NCHSAA 3A State Playoffs and will host West Carteret in the first round Friday.

Cam Entrekin returned an interception for a touchdown for a 7-0 Northwood lead.

Running back/linebacker/kicker Aidan Laros scored a TD and the Chargers held a 14-12 edge at halftime.

Laros made a 47-yard field goal and scored two more touchdowns in the second half. William Lake and Kirk Haddix scored TDs in the 30-0 second half for the Chargers.

Terry Sanford 35, Overhills 31

The Bulldogs (6-1) beat the Jaguars (3-4) in a Patriot Athletic finale in Fayetteville Friday night. Terry Sanford led 28-6 at halftime.

Baseball Trinity School 8, O’Neal 7

Trinity School (7-3, 3-0) held off the Falcons in a TTAC game in Durham Friday afternoon.

O’Neal (4-3, 1-2) led 4-2 through two frames. Trinity School came back and led 8-5 going to the seventh when the Falcons scored two but couldn’t tie it.

Jacob Bates went 2 for 3 with two RBI for the Falcons while Aaron Pavlovich went 2 for 4 with a double, a run and an RBI.

Girls soccer Trinity School 5, O’Neal 0

Trinity School beat O’Neal (3-4-1, 0-3) in a Triangle-Triad match Friday. O’Neal hosts Carolina Friends at 4 p.m. today.
