Central Carolina 84, Lenoir 70

The Cougars (3-2) led by 10 after the first half and took the lead up to as much as 20 in the second half in a 84-70 win over Lenoir in Sanford Wednesday night.

Sophomore Montell Moore led CCCC with 19 points to go with six rebounds, six steals and four assists.

Derek Gardner had 11 points and four assists for the Cougars. Darnell Carver, off the Cougar bench, had 11 points. Trevon Bell had nine points and seven rebounds.

Central Carolina led 44-34 at halftime.

The Cougars will host Guilford Tech at 5 p.m. Saturday.


Central Carolina d. Guilford Tech 25-5, 25-21, 25-15

The Cougars (3-1) completed a regular-season sweep vs. Guilford Tech on the road Tuesday night.

Freshman setter Lily Bonner set 26 assists and added seven digs and four aces for the Cougars.

Breighanna Hobbs hit nine kills, Grace McAllister had eight kills and Taylor Rosser had six kills. Mekenzie Harris and Rosser had four aces each as CCCC totaled 16 aces. Kaiyan Padilla made 16 digs and Pristina Tabon made 10 digs.

Central Carolina played at Patrick Henry in Martinsville, Va. last night and will host Sandhills at 7 p.m. Thursday.
