GATLINBURG, Tenn. — REAL Sports Volleyball Club’s 17s Crossfire, of Sanford, won the Queen of the Mountain Tournament in Tennessee Feb. 13-14.
Crossfire is one of two REAL Sports Volleyball Club teams in the club’s inaugural season. The club seeks to radically equip athletes for life so they excel on and off the court.
Crossfire reached the semifinals of the Winter Bump tournament in Myrtle Beach, S.C. in January.
On the trip to Gatlinburg, at the Queen of the Mountain Tournament, Crossfire went through the two-day tournament without dropping a set and won the gold medal in the 17s division.
Crossfire won three matches on Saturday; beating the SVBC Blazers 17 25-18, 25-12, beating AIM 17-1 25-18, 25-7, and beating AHAVA 17-1 25-11, 25-15. On Sunday, Crossfire beat Insanity Volleyball 17-1 25-21, 25-6, then defeated Club Unite 17 Premier 25-22, 25-14.
The team is Graysen Ellis, Rylie Gooch, Madalyn Shields, Emma Brown, Mary Katherine Thompson, Tristan Stewart, Emily Clegg, MaKenyia Mackey, Mackenzie Baldwin, Kirsten Rosser and Kaitlyn Spivey.
