Tri-County 6 champ and 7-0 Lee County is the No. 5 seed and will play at No. 4 J.H. Rose (6-0) in the first round of the NCHSAA 3AA state football playoffs Friday night.

The Rampants are the Eastern Carolina champs. J.H. Rose finished the regular season beating South Central 28-26 on April 1.

The Yellow Jackets, the 3AA state runners-up in 2019, beat Southern Lee in the Brick City Bowl 67-16 Friday night.

The Jackets have been in one one-possession game all season; a 30-27 win at Overhills in week two of the season.

The state football playoffs are four rounds, 16 teams per bracket, this season.

In the 3A playoffs, No. 2 Northwood (5-2) will host No. 7 West Carteret (5-2) in the first round.

In 4AA, No. 8 Pinecrest (5-2) will go to No. 1 Apex Friendship (7-0).

In 1AA, No. 7 North Moore (4-3) will play at No. 2 East Surry (6-1).
