Central Carolina’s rejuvenated women’s basketball program won back-to-back games on a road trip through West Virginia and Virginia Friday-Sunday.

The Lady Cougars (2-1), in Mount Hope, West Virginia, Friday, routed Appalachian Bible 86-21.

In Martinsville, Va. Sunday, CCCC romped through the first three quarters for a big lead and beat Patrick Henry 74-58.

In Friday’s game at Appalachian Bible, Cougar subs Jaliyah Howard scored 21 points and Majesti Richardson scored 17 points.

In the starting five, Elizabeth Eagle scored 16 and Tesha Brewer had 11 points.

Brewer swiped 10 steals and Howard had nine steals and Shykiera Brown had seven steals.

At Patrick Henry, the Lady Cougars led 41-26 by halftime, then 66-43 going to the fourth quarter. Howard led five double-digit scorers with 17 points and eight assists. Brown had 14 points, Eagle scored 12, Kaiyan Padilla scored 12 and Richardson had 10 points plus 11 rebounds.

Central Carolina will play its home opener against Caldwell Tech at 6 p.m. Friday. This is CCCC’s first women’s basketball season since 2017-18.
